3 Years Old
This was when my dancing journey began. I got my first pair of ballet shoes and met Jo my dance teacher, and skipped around in fairy wings!
4 Years Old
My next excitement was starting tap dancing and getting sparkly tap shoes. I was delighted and having lots of fun.
5 Years Old
Showtime! I performed on stage for the first time, dressed as a fluffy bunny, with a tutu and floppy ears!
6 Years Old
I danced in the Ali-Baba Christmas panto at Knox Academy in the extreme winter of snow when everything was cancelled except the dance school panto…and it was minus 9 degrees!
7 Years Old
This was the age that I was constantly performing shows at home, after dance class I would spend the next week dancing for anyone who would watch!
8 Years Old
I remember having the best parties at the dance school, with facepainting, bouncy castles, dancing and games!
9 Years Old
I took the whole family to a Red Flame (going into HSDM) ceilidh. Even grannies were up stripping the willow!
10 Years Old
My sister and I performed with HSDM in 3 Little Pigs for a week at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It was so much fun!
11 Years Old
I started Contemporary dance classes and fell in love with the style straight away!
12 Years Old
I did a solo performance of our contemporary dance at a school show. It was such a great moment for me. Fern helped me so much.
13 Years Old
I started Dance company classes which I am finding amazing! I have been introduced to lots of new styles and learnt so many great dances!
This is just a brief summary of what dancing means to me and why I have taken dance lessons for 10 years. Dancing brings me such joy – here’s to the next 10 years!
